Here is
a very typical late 60's early 70's Plano Home...wide, single
story, wing walls, and the dreaded narrow planter boxes.
Working with the homeowners, Dan Garrison designed a solution
that would eliminate the planter boxes, and add a more natural
look to the home. The challenges in this project included renovating
the irrigation system and selecting plants that would be low
maintenance and would thrive in the shade produced by 4 mature
live oak trees.

The planter boxes along the
front of the home were popular in the late 1960's when this home
was built.
The East exposure along
with mature trees will shade portions of this home nearly all
day.
The planter boxes were removed
and the bricks were cleaned.
The irrigation system
was renovated to accomodate the new landscape beds.
Chop Stone Edging surrounds
shade loving shrubs.
Color and interest in
this landscape will come from blooming azaleas, loropetalum, shrub
roses, red japanese maples, and nandinas.
Smart landscaping will
always create a generous return on the investment when time to
sell.
Low Voltage Lighting shows
off this landscape well beyond daylight hours.
