It all starts with a vision...this homeowner's vision was to transform their typical Plano backyard (fence, grass, small patio) into a garden escape. The homeowners pictured a meandering stone walkway surrounded by raised flowerbeds full of blooming trees, shrubs and perennials. Working closely with the homeowner, Dan Garrison first captured their vision on paper, and a few weeks later it became a reality.

Some of the challenges in this installation included surface drainage and major irrigation modifications. The drainage issues were solved by routing the gutter downspouts into underground pipes, adding surface drains to the patio, and creating a small river rock overflow area to allow excess water to escape in times of heavy rain fall. The backyard irrigation system was converted to a drip system, using the existing sprinkler zones. The drip system is extremely water efficient, promotes healthy plant growth, and creates no overspray onto the walkway, fence, or windows.
